Sunny Leone was born on May 13, 1981, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She spent the majority of her carefree and innocent childhood relishing the long Canadian winters, and would often devote entire days to outdoor pursuits, such as ice skating and building snowmen.

Sunny Leone defined herself as a natural performer from an early age, trying her hand at everything from singing to dancing to acting. Sunny Leone was even something of a tomboy in her adolescence, showing a palpable affinity for a variety of different sports.

In 1996, when Sunny Leone was just a teenager, her family pulled up stakes in Toronto and headed for the comparatively scorching landscape of California. Although it wasn’t exactly a smooth transition, Sunny Leone was determined to make the best out of her new situation. To that end, Sunny Leone enrolled in a local junior college after graduating from high school in 1999.

It was during one fateful English class that a fellow classmate mentioned that she should give
modeling a try, and even provided Sunny Leone with an agent’s phone number. That call led to an appointment with a photographer, and it was at that initial session that Sunny Leone got her first taste of on-camera nudity. Initially reluctant, Sunny Leone realized that posing nude could lead to a lucrative career in the business and allow her to travel all over the world.

Over the next couple of years, Sunny Leone devoted herself full time to her burgeoning career as an erotic model, and it wasn’t long before the up-and-coming starlet became known as one of the hottest new faces in the industry.

Sunny Leone’s hard work and perseverance paid off in 2001 when she was named Penthouse Pet of the Month in March of that year. Appearances in a wide variety of well-known adult magazines followed, including High Society, Swank and Hustler, and Sunny Leone soon found herself in demand for non-pornographic projects, like Ja Rule’s “Livin’ It Up” music video.

She recently returned from Miami, I was interviewing everyone from Snoop Dogg to Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas on the white carpet at the 2005 MTV Awards for MTV India.
