RDB – The History

RDB (Rhythm Dhol and Bass) have already established themselves has a household name in the UK and International bhangra scene as one of the most talented production and entertainment groups of their time by uniquely fusing together several hundred years of traditional folk music with the heaviest basses, crispest snares and hypest vocals Asian music has to offer.

Over the past nine years they've sold over a million copies of their albums worldwide - available independently of HMV or Virgin, rocked roughly a thousand odd parties across the world and spread the RDB flava to literally thousands of bhangra fans in countries such as United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Canada, USA, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Dubai, India, Pakistan and Kenya. As well as that, they have worked on very successful bollywood projects, featured on top selling Asian music compilations and have been running their own ‘Number One Online TV Show dedicated to Bhangra’ called RDBTV.com for almost 2 years.

RDB – The Skills

Kuly, the eldest brother runs the UK production outfit from his studio in the UK, while Manj creates his beats and basslines in his identical 96 track digital studio in Toronto, Canada. Both studios run Mackie D8B digital mixing desks, along with a host of synths and keyboards to create the clean fresh sounds of the RDB albums. Manj is also the lead vocalist for RDB, combined with RDB’s father Harjog Singh as the main lyricist; it forms a very strong musical family. Surj is the head of the RDB roadshow which has amazed thousands of bhangra fans worldwide with its hype Dj battles, live drummers, electric dancers and traditional live Punjabi singers.

As well as producing, the RDB brothers design their own websites, cd covers, flyers, posters and even Music Videos. Having created their own videos from concept to storyboarding, directing, shooting, lighting and editing, the RDB team has control over everything with the brand name on. However, these boys aren't just simply DJs / Singers and Producers.... since the release of their first album (RDB - The debut) on UntouchablesUk.com Records, its fair to say the group has changed the UK bhangra scene forever both within the UK and worldwide. The RDB sound has become a genre itself within the UK Bhangra music scene.
